Assistant Management Accountant

My client is a well-known secondary school looking to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant on a long term contract basis to join their Finance Team.

The role will support the Head of Finance in preparing management accounts, budgets, and financial reports. Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with monthly management accounts and financial reporting
• Supporting budget planning, forecasting, and variance analysis processes
• Processing invoices, posting of journals, reconciliations and assisting with payroll
• Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with financial regulations
• Working closely with department heads to provide financial insights and support decision-making

What We’re Looking For

• Part-qualified or studying towards a recognised accounting qualification (AAT, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
• Experience in a similar finance role, looking to step up to more management accounting duties
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency in financial software and Excel
• A proactive and team-oriented approach with excellent communication skills
